Pak Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS) offers the opportunity to postgraduate students in Pakistan, pursuing Masters, MPhil, or PhD in social sciences, to participate in its ongoing projects as interns.

The internship positions are expected to advance successful candidates’ practical skills and work experience in empirical and theoretical aspects of research on conflict and security, peacebuilding and media. The interns will be working closely with the project coordinators, focusing on field and desk research and producing reports. They will have the added responsibility to assist in different aspects of the respective projects that could include preparing profiles, conducting surveys and triangulating data.

We are looking for interns in the following areas:

  • Conflict monitoring and research (Pakistan and South Asia)
  • Conflict & security database (Pakistan)
  • Media monitoring and research (Pakistan and Afghanistan)
  • Peacebuilding and counter-extremism program (Pakistan)

Interns will join the PIPS team in Islamabad and will receive a modest monthly stipend, and an additional travelling and daily allowance in case of their engagement in fieldwork and outdoor activities.
